“Give ear, O my people, to my law; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old, which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. For He established a testimony in Jacob and
appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their
children; that the generation to come might know them, the children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments; and may not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious
generation, a generation that did not set its heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful to God.”

Psalm 78:1-8.

Our goal is to partner with parents to ground our children in the knowledge of the Lord, His Word and the Gospel, to model Jesus and encourage them towards saving faith in Christ.

We have a great team of Children’s Church Ministry leaders and helpers for the two Primary aged class groups - Younger Primary (4-8 years old) and Older Primary (9-12 years old). Village Church is committed to providing a safe environment for the protection and well-being of the children in our care and this is
intentionally targeted in our conduct, policies, and procedures.

Our practice is to allow the children to participate in the church worship time before they exit the main service just prior to the preaching of the Word for their own teaching and activity time. The children have a combined session first up with their own worship time, focus on a monthly Scripture memory verse, their separate offering for children in Cambodia through a Christian organisation, and prayer. This is
followed by their separate age-appropriate lesson/activity classes.

Each week’s lesson forms a part of The Gospel Project, a 3-year chronological study cycle through the Scriptures to help the children dive deep into the big story of the Bible -God’s plan to rescue His people through His Son, Jesus Christ.  This is supplemented by activities that help the children see how the whole Bible points to Jesus and the Gospel.

Our children’s ministry teaching program does not run during school holidays but there are activity/colouring-in sheets provided. During the Summer holidays, a limited holiday program operates for 4–8-year-old children.
